AMPI stands for ASOCIACION MEXICANA DE PROFESIONALES INMOBILIARIOS A.C. – The Association of Mexican Real Estate Professionals and the only national organization of this type in Mexico.
Whenever a real estate agency wishes to promote their businesses, AMPI is the association they join to represent them within the real estate industry.
AMPI was developed throughout the years with the input and knowledgebase from all its members. AMPI is more than just a group of people. AMPI is a solid and recognized institution in Mexico for more than 27 years. It was originally established in 1956 and was consolidated in 1980. AMPI now is represented in all major cities and regions of Mexico – from coast to coast and border to border from Tijuana to Cancun.
If you are a Realtor, Agent or an Agency Owner, consider joining us. Here is why :
IMAGE AND REPRESENTATION When an individual or business takes a position on any given matter they will never have the same impact as when a National Association takes the position. Our AMPI voice is being heard and will continue to be heard. AMPI has obtained different “chairs” on all types of forums or consulting groups regarding Real Estate –from government groups that focused on housing to organizations involved in urban planning and growth. Not only at a Federal, State and County level but also on a Business level through Chambers and Councils. AMPI´s position is taken very seriously as an authority in the Real Estate sector in Mexico.
AMPI´s Code of Ethics allows us to do business together in an environment of shared trust. Our Code of Ethics is well established and is clearly defined for our members. Both the members and the general public benefit from our Code since it includes corrective actions and sanctions for those who break them. AMPI has designed a system of fees throughout the different regions of the country. Our AMPI member works professionally and expects to be compensated for his labor. Because AMPI is based on sharing commissions with their fellow Association members, this is easily accomplished in a fair, legitimate, and efficient manner. The trust that AMPI generates goes beyond its members, but also is a benefit received by our clients. An AMPI business associate is recognized as one of quality and confidence, shown by the way we do business, professionally and honestly.
For quite sometime there have been two very important concerns for those of us involved in the real estate profession in Mexico. One is in achieving a “Certification” and the other is in obtaining a “License”. Though many other organizations have tried to make leeway, only AMPI has truly been able to make progress in this direction. Both Certification and Licensing seek to offer professional recognition to those working in our industry. Advances made by “CONOCER“, the National Council on Norms and Certification, are in their final stages of completion. This Council is governed by the Secretary of Public Education, the Labor Secretary and Social Prevention, plus business and labor organizations. Currently, any AMPI member in the country may take the training classes and the exam that is given for Federal level certification. There are three testing centers, one in Monterrey, Guadalajara and in Mexico City, where many of our real estate agents have already been receiving their certificates. Obtaining licensing has been more of a challenge and has taken more time. In order to promote a Professional Real Estate license, it has to be done not only at each State level but also at the Federal government level. This is similar to receiving a professional title – a degree.
Due to the diligence and hard work of AMPI members over the years, we are now a well known and respected international Real Estate organization. We are recognized by other International associations such as FIABCI, The International Real Estate Federation, which represents more than 50 countries and is headquartered in Paris, France. AMPI also has a permanent relationship with other international organizations such as the NAR (National Association of Realtors) from the United Status of America, CREA (Canadian Real Estate Association) plus other Latin American Associations such as FECEPAC (Federación Centroamericana, Panamá y El Caribe de Asociaciones y Cámaras de Bienes Raíces) and and SECOVIS from Brazil. AMPI is recognized through out the world as a prestigious and professional organization. |
